“Political Prisoners Need
You Now: Support George BaBa Eng”
by Herman
He is a
father and grandfather, and since his incarceration he has earned three college
degrees. He comes up before the parole board for the third time in December
2005.
Because
of his “take no nonsense” approach, the prison administrators have released
their Ku Klux Klan guards on BaBa. He has spent
almost nine years of his sentence in the boxes/special housing units/isolation
units of the
Now
he has again been trapped off by a crazed guard and charged with an infraction
that is clearly another set-up. We are
calling on all supporters of humane treatment for inmates to join the campaign
to get these people off his back so he can finish his remaining time without
interference before he goes before the parole board.
Note:
Baba was punished by being placed in a special housing unit for 30 days. As a
result, he lost his position in “honor block” where the best-behaved prisoners
are kept, and he lost his law clerk job for 60 days. Upon his release from the
SHU, he took legal action against the administration and successfully appealed the negative decision against him.
In spite of this successful appeal, Baba needs our
help. Because he is in a constant fight for liberation, that of himself and
other prisoners, he has been targeted by the prison administration and must
constantly deal with harassment, humiliation, and trumped up charges.
Please
write to Baba to express your solidarity. Write to the Senior Parole Officer
demanding George Baba Eng’s release.
