Her folktale re-tellings of "Wiley and the Hairy Man" and "The Legend of Annie Christmas" have been published in African American Children's Stories: A Treasury of Tradition and Pride, and anthology of stories, songs, and biographies (Publications International, 2001). Two original stories by Karima, "Grandma's Garden" and "The Prettiest Picture", have been published in My First Treasury: Grandma Loves You, a board book for young children, ages 0-6 (Publications International, 2003).
